Sri Lanka Customs says they have received instructions to pay special attention to the inspection activities at the VIP passenger terminal of the Katunayake International Airport.
Its media spokesperson Sudaththa Silva says that the instructions were received from the Ministry of Finance.
He adds that accordingly, attention will be paid to increasing the number of officers currently deployed for the relevant inspections.
Meanwhile, State Minister of Finance Shehan Semasinghe says that if people continue to misuse the airport's VIP terminal and engage in illegal activities, strict action will have to be taken against them.
