The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) has proposed an 18.3% increase in electricity tariffs, according to Acting Chairman Udayanga Hemapala.
He stated that the proposal was submitted yesterday to the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) for review and approval.
The PUCSL is expected to announce its final decision on the proposed revision within this month.
If approved, the new electricity tariffs will come into effect from June 1, 2025.
