It is reported that Dulanjali Jayakody Premadasa, the sister of Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa is preparing to contest the local council elections slated to be held next year.
Rumors circulating on social media say that she is planning to contest as the Samagi Jana Balawegaya's mayoral candidate for the Colombo Municipal Council.
Furthermore, she has already started her social welfare initiatives in the Colombo city limits from Sucharitha.
Former President Ranasinghe Premadasa also served as a member of the Colombo Municipal Council, but he was not able to realise one of his political dreams of becoming the Mayor of Colombo.
