Padman: President Gotabaya takes a leaf out of Sajith's playbook

Opposition leader Sajith Premadasa says that although the government is planning to provide free sanitary napkins to school girls today, he was mocked and ridiculed by members of the current government when he proposed it during the last presidential election.

However, the SJB leader praised the proposed move and urged the government to expedite the process and to make available sanitary napkins to all women in the country.

Addressing a media briefing held at the Opposition Leader's office on Monday (04), he noted that some of critics did not even want to acknowledge that there was a problem related to sanitary napkins, calling it a disappointing situation.

"It's better late than never,” Premadasa said, while commending the government for accepting reality to provide free sanitary napkins to school girls.

During the last presidential election, popular singer Sanjeewani Weerasinghe and actor Bandu Samarasinghe used their fame to mislead the public by slandering the progressive pledge made by Sajith Premadasa. Now, those who opposed the move back then are nowehere to be seen.
