President Maithripala Sirisena has directed that the preparation of terrorism prevention laws in the country be expedited, the President’s Media Division said.
Sirisena had reportedly instructed the Sectoral Oversight Committee on National Security to speed up the process of amending the rules and regulations and introducing new laws to prevent terrorism.

The Sectoral Oversight Committee on National Security is tasked with addressing the issues cited in the proposal and to look into the necessary legislative amendments and new legislation.
