The Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) is to hold a series of district summits following the launch of the party's future action plan at its 68th convention to be held today.
The convention is to be held today at 2 p.m. at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium under the patronage of party leader, President Maithripala Sirisena.
SLFP General Secretary, MP Dayasiri Jayasekera says the party will launch its future programme under the theme of "Sunila Janavadha."
The programme will be aimed at developing a dialogue with the public to formulate a permanent national policy.
Accordingly, the SLFP plans to hold meetings at district level and the main district meetings will be held under the patronage of President Sirisena.
Jayasekera said that around 15,000 SLFP members from all parts of the island would attend today's convention.
"Today will show that the SLFP is prepared to face any election," the SLFP General Secretary said.
