After a successful start in the South East region in 2019, the Krannich team operating from Singapore has accepted a new challenge: become the preferred solar distributor of PV installers in Sri Lanka.
Customers in the country have so far been served by the international Sales department in Germany. Prasanna Jayaratnam, branch manager of Krannich South East Asia, shares his thoughts on this new opportunity: “We are happy to increase our support and actions towards the Sri Lankan installers. It’s a very exciting challenge for us to enter such a dynamic and skilled market, I’m sure that our global experience will allow us to bring to the market a new level of service and customer experience.”
The Sri Lankan government had announced it some months ago: they intend to cover all the country's energy needs with renewable energy by 2050. The target in the photovoltaic sector is already set: Solar energy capacity is to be expanded to 16,000 MW by 2050 and the “rooftop initiative” (Battle for Solar Energy) should ensure the equipment of no less than 100,000 private households with solar systems.
“As an Authorised Partner for the leading PV equipment suppliers, we want to make sure that Sri Lanka is on the front row when it comes to innovation and solutions. Krannich Solar’s German expertise combined to the effectiveness of our Singapore operation team will allow us to bring the best offering – my Sri Lankan background might even allow me to bring a bit of a local flavor,” Prasanna Jayaratnam said.
After having completed many PV projects, the Krannich team is now used to remote operations and is best equipped to manage this further mission. The local warehouse is fully stocked with solar panels, inverters, and accessories from world renowned manufacturers. PV Installers can be kept in touch on the available stock on the Krannich website or social media.
