Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) presidential candidate and former Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa has sought court approval to travel overseas for medical treatment.
Rajapaksa has sought approval from the Permanent High Court Trial-at-Bar to travel to Singapore from October 9-12.
The Permanent High Court Trial-at-Bar has imposed an overseas travel ban on Rajapaksa over an ongoing case.
Meanwhile, a writ application filed before the Court of Appeal by two civil society activists are to be taken for consideration today and tomorrow.
Rajapaksa’s maiden election rally is to be held on the 9th in Anuradhapura, which is the same day he has requested to travel overseas.
